It is fun to make things.

I am a sculptor.
I also make potteries because I have pottery class.And I make baskets too.
The other hand I work at high school as a part time art teacher.

On every count it is fun to make what I want to make.
I feel like that it is similar with a child who make hard something which is rubbish for adult.
It does not matter wether it would be able to sell or not.
I enjoy that it must be fun to do it.

I'm happy in certain way to do such things till now.:)
That's why I can not sell my works... 私の本職は彫刻ですが、陶芸教室をやっているので陶器なども作るし、カゴバックなども作ります。
いずれにしても自分が　何か作りたい物を作るのは楽しく、その気持ちは小さな子どもが大人から見ると　ろくでもないものを一生懸命つくっているのと似ています。
それが売れるか売れないかなんて関係なく、こうやったら面白いかどうかなんてことだけで遊んでいる...
この年までこんなことをやっていられるのも、ある意味幸せだなあと思います。
だから作品が売れないんですけどね。

Basket bag

This is one of my side business, making basket bag.
It made of paper,applying Kakisibu柿渋（persimmon tannin). It's a comfortable for use and tough.
I sell it reasonable price.
I enjoy to make it.

One of the relax time.

Usually when I see something I grasp it tridimensional.
Sometimes I enjoy playing to draw watercolor.
It's interesting a different point of view.
The beautiful color makes me nutritious.

Handmade bags made of leather.

If you buy leather bag at the shop, you would spend much money.
However, if you make it, you can get it what you like at a low price.
I bought the materials of leather at wholesale in Asakusa（浅草　あさくさ）. There are many wholesale of it in there. Asakusa is familiar as sight seeing place in Japan, many foreigners visit there.
And I made these hand stitch. It's a pleasure to think about what I design,
And then I do hand stitch the process bit by bit.
After finished it, there are times it's clumsy to use it, but I enjoy it.

no houseroom of baskets.
I want to have a shop to show my sculptures, potteries and baskets even if it's a small. As I mention that before, I work at high school as a par time art teacher, because it is hard to make living to sell my works and others. So if I quit the teaching , I wouldn't make living. However, I have many sculptures, potteries and baskets. There are times to sell it to a person who wants these works. I'm thinking that how to get a space to show my works somehow.

Origami （折り紙、おりがみ）

These are crabs made of paper. It's origami（折り紙、おりがみ）Have you ever made origami ? It can transform a piece of paper into anything. You don't need any tools to make it. Everyone is able to try doing it. If you don't have origami paper, you can make it with wrapping paper or any other kind of paper.

Another wallet.

This is another wallet what I made, but it was failure. The edge of the wallet looks like rotted plywood. I put glue too much. You cannot see this picture. I can notice to see the side of it.

A silk yarn.

These yarn are silk. I got impulse buying, because these were so beautiful. I'm not going to make something though. Japanese traditional cloths of Kimono are made of silk. An artisan has to raise silkworm, dying yarn and weaving. At present time, it seems to decrease the number of the artisan who does all the process. I read a newspaper the other day, young mail of foreign country has started to do this job. Japanese young people don't like such work what takes long time. I wonder silk cloths will be make by only big company in the future.

Leather craft.

This is my wallet which I made.
It made from a sheep leather what is softer than a cow one.

A Vegetable dying.

I do the dying in my class at high school every year. The colors of vegetable dying are not bright, but these are plain, calm and quiet beautiful. You can get materials of dying whenever you do it. For example, there are peel of onion, tea, coffee, wood and grass. I don't have to use chemicals. At first, you boil these natural materials. You soak cloths which you want to dye in to the liquid. So you soak the cloths in to next liquid. This liquid is catalysis of colors. The catalysis which is boiled rusty nails by sour is natural material too. The reason why I use catalysis is putting colors in to cloths permanent. I like these colors. Doing vegetable dying is only in Japan I think. Western dying is more bright and brilliant than them .

Misanga

Today's topic is making "misanga". What language is Misanga, I don't know. I think it may be Spanish. Misanga is kind of bracelet. I heard that at first, an athlete had worn it.When they make a wish, it is said that if the bracelet frayed and broken, their wish would come true. High school students like such things. They make Misanga of hemp or cotton. Particularly girl students must give their boyfriends. What do they make wish? I don"t know.

Glass Beads.

These are "Tombo Dama". These are Japanese glass beads. I wind melting glass with a stick of iron. I made these. High school students have enjoyed them.

Sewing.

I went to a sewing shop when they held a sale. I'm going to make a bag. I have made some bags of leather. So I will try making a bag of cloth. Making something is interesting. People of today don't like to make something by hand because it would take a long time. It is not easy.

Teaching.

One of my other jobs is as a part time teacher in high school. Students have to choose a subject of arts. There are four subjects, music, calligraphy,pure art and craft art. I teach craft art, for example, leather craft,curving wood, textiles, dyeing cloth, glass work,cloisonne,and basket work. These are all my favorite things. However, young people are not good at handmade. They have grown up in IT era. So they don't like that not easy to make something. They always hold cell phone. They can do everything only pushing a button. I always cheer up them to make it. For now, they enjoyed it.
